Tuskegee University officials said Police Chief Kareem Easley has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested for driving under the influence in Sandy Springs, Georgia, on New Year's Day.

A 24-year-old Hayward man was arrested over the weekend during a DUI patrol in Cotati after police said they found cocaine and a loaded firearm without a serial number in his vehicle.

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — The Sandy Springs Police Department revealed new details about the recent arrest of Tuskegee University Police Chief Kareem Easley. Channel 2 Action News was the first to report on Easley’s arrest on Thursday, when university officials confirmed he was arrested and was placed on leave.
